Salary range:
2+ years of experience: $77,600 – $100,000
3+ years of experience: $87,700 – $110,000

These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the role’s level, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a position in the BNSF tax department primarily focused on sales and use tax compliance. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all sales/use tax compliance functions for BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) and subsidiary companies. Reporting directly to the Director of Taxes (Sales and Use Taxes), this position will be directly involved in the preparation, filing and remittance of sales/use tax returns with the various local, state, and provincial authorities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. In addition, this position will support the sales/use tax audit and appeal process. Â

Key responsibilities may include:
Â
Support
and
assist
the Director of Taxes (Sales & Use) to effectively
manage
communications with the Accounting Department on matters such as cash flow, account reconciliation, tax accrual, and monthly journal entries. Â
Work
with other departments on sales and use tax questions related to materials and services that BNSF purchases.Â
Communicate
with vendors and work closely with partners in Strategic Sourcing.
Work
with Technology Services to ensure that ONESOURCE, the sales and use tax compliance engine, is functioning properly through SAP and other data and reporting systems.
Collaborate
with others on the tax team to support state tax policy and legislative issues, identify efficiency and productivity initiatives, and identify strategic initiatives.
IdentifyÂ
