PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Diesel Service Attendant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our locomotives running smoothly. You will move, fuel, clean, test, and perform basic repairs on locomotives in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment. This position is perfect for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and thrives outdoors.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safely fuel and sand locomotives, and replenish cab amenities as required
Conduct inspections and perform basic repairs on locomotives, fuel tanks, and cab equipment
Assess parts for reuse or replacement to ensure operational efficiency
Clean and service locomotive cabs, including walls, toilets, windows, and floors
Test cab electrical devices, set up cab brakes per train operation requirements, and verify all safety devices
Complete crew-to-crew forms accurately and ensure compliance with operational standards
Perform additional duties as outlined in the collective agreement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general equivalency
Valid driver’s license
Minimum 1 year experience working around heavy equipment
Commercial driver’s license
Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions
Ability to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in English
Proven dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines/rules
