Local Intermodal CDL Class A Driver
Join our dynamic team as a Local Intermodal CDL Class A Driver and take pride in safely transporting containerized freight within the local area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate tractor\-trailers hauling intermodal containers to and from rail yards, customer facilities, and drop yards. As a key player in our logistics network, you will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
Duties
* Safely operate a tractor\-trailer hauling intermodal containers on chassis across designated local routes
* Transport containers to and from rail yards, ports, warehouses, and customer locations
* Perform container mounting and dismounting on chassis safely and efficiently
* Conduct thorough pre\-trip and post\-trip inspections of tractor and chassis to ensure safety and DOT compliance
* Verify container numbers, seal integrity, and documentation before pickups and deliveries
* Deliver freight on time while following assigned routes and appointment schedules
* Secure containers properly and ensure equipment is in safe working condition
* Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, container moves, and equipment inspections in accordance with federal and state regulations
* Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or equipment issues
* Comply with rail yard, port, and customer facility safety procedures at all times
Requirements
* Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
* Intermodal/container experience preferred
* Must be approved with rail or port systems (such as UIIA or port access, if applicable)
* Experience operating tractor\-trailers with chassis and container loads
* Ability to perform equipment inspections and identify mechanical or safety issues
* Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and cargo securement
* Ability to work in a fast\-paced local environment with multiple daily container moves
* TWIC card preferred (if operating in port environments)
* Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical tasks related to container operations
Job Type: Full\-time
Pay: $1,025\.56 \- $1,500\.00 per week
