Job Description
The Manager of Aircraft Maintenance is responsible for the leadership, planning, and execution of all maintenance activities supporting Union Pacific Railroad’s corporate aviation fleet. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a fleet of three Dassault Falcon 2000 S and LXS aircraft in a corporate aviation environment, providing reliable executive transportation. The position is a key member of a nine-person aviation team (6 pilots and 3 maintenance professionals) and works closely with the Director of Aviation and the Chief Pilot to deliver best-in-class safety, reliability, and service.
Accountabilities
Lead and manage
a team of maintenance technicians, promoting accountability, open communication, and a strong safety culture.
Ensure
all aircraft are maintained in full compliance with FAA Part 91 regulations, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) requirements, and company standards.
Oversee
all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) event response to minimize downtime.
Utilize
the CAMP maintenance tracking system to plan, track, and forecast maintenance events, ensuring continuous aircraft readiness.
Maintain
complete, accurate, and audit-ready aircraft maintenance records at all times.
Ensure
compliance with all Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and time-controlled component requirements.
Coordinate
maintenance scheduling with flight operations to maximize aircraft availability and dispatch reliability.
Manage relationships
with OEMs, MROs (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul providers), and other vendors, ensuring high quality work, on-time performance, and cost-effective service.
Develop and manage
the annual maintenance budget, including forecasting and planning for major events (e.g., engine overhauls, landing gear inspections, major airframe inspections).
Support and actively participate
in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program, to report and monitor safety issues and improvements.
Collaborate
daily with flight operations (pilots and schedulers) to support a 24/7 executive travel schedule, adjusting maintenance plans as needed to meet operational demands.
Provide
real-time operational decision-making support during maintenance-related disruptions, ensuring timely resolutions and keeping leadership informed.
Qualifications - Required
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
– must hold a valid FAA A&P license.
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
, with a strong record of progressively responsible roles.
5+ years in a leadership or supervisory maintenance role
, demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage workflows.
Experience in Part 91 corporate aviation
maintenance operations.
Working knowledge of Dassault Falcon 2000 series aircraft
(or similar large-cabin business jets).
Experience with CAMP or similar maintenance tracking systems
for scheduling and record-keeping.
Prior corporate aviation maintenance leadership experience
, especially managing maintenance for a corporate flight department.
Qualifications - Preferred
Experience with OEM service networks
, including oversight of contracts or warranties.
Familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS) platforms

Work Conditions
On-Call Duty:
Requires on-call availability to support a 24/7 flight operation; must be prepared to respond to after-hours or weekend maintenance issues.
Travel:
Occasional travel to off-site maintenance providers, service centers, or OEM facilities may be required for major maintenance events or inspections.
