Your future starts here.   PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Step into a leadership role overseeing critical Signals & Communications (S&C) operations that keep CPKC’s network safe, reliable, and efficient across Eastern Ontario. As the Manager, Signals & Communication Operations based in Smith Falls, ON you’ll lead skilled teams, optimize system performance, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic rail environment. If you’re motivated by impactful work and ready to shape the future of rail technology, this role puts you at the center of it all.   POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead Signals and Communications field teams to deliver safe reliable operations Plan prioritize and execute maintenance inspections and corrective work Monitor system performance and resolve outages to minimize service disruption Coordinate track access and work windows with Operations and Engineering Ensure compliance with company standards safety rules and regulatory requirements Manage contractors materials and budgets to meet cost and timeline targets Drive continuous improvement root cause analysis and best practice adoption Develop schedules coach talent and build a high performance safety culture   POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma 2+ years of railroad industry experience in Signals & Communications Valid driver’s license Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond to after hours emergencies Ability to meet all safety critical medical and drug testing requirements as applicable   WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER: Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and/or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Annual fitness subsidy Part-time studies program   PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Medical and Drug Testing This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required.
