**Job Summary:**
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full\-time attendance.
**Job Description:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
* With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub\-frames, etc
* Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard
* Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked
* Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
* Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costs
* Understand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc
* Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tight
* Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under supervision of a certified technician as required
**Shift Schedule:** Wednesday \- Saturday 6:00am \- 4:30pm

**Qualifications:**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs
* Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
* Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines
* Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
* Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
* Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi\-tractor or semi\-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
* At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
* Welding certification
* Forklift certification and experience
