FLSA\-exempt**Summary of the Position:**
The Operations Superintendent reports to the Executive Director and oversees train and engine service employees, mechanical employees, roadway maintenance crews, and assigned volunteers. The position is based at the NCR Train Station, 2 West Main Street, New Freedom, PA 17349\. The position is full\-time. Pay is based on an annual salary and is FLSA\-exempt. Regular working hours for this position are Thursday through Monday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Schedule flexibility is frequently available or required. A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
The Operations Superintendent will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of NCR trains. This involves the management of all aspects of NCR operations to provide a superior guest experience. This position involves the oversight of employees as well as hands on work.
The Operations Superintendent will support the mission of NCR by communicating in a professional and positive manner with stakeholders, keeping equipment and grounds in a clean, presentable condition, and providing outstanding service. This is a working manager role. This position is a “Safety Sensitive Position” according to the definition and policies on “Safety Sensitive Positions” found in the most current version of the Northern Central Railway Of York Employee Handbook.

**Key Accountabilities:**
The below items are accountabilities the Operations Superintendent will need to meet along with a weighted percentage to give an idea of how time is typically allocated to the position. 1\. Overseeing and performing safe train operations (35%)
2\. Overseeing and performing equipment maintenance/restoration (35%)
3\. Overseeing facilities (roadway, buildings, grounds) maintenance (10%)

**Oversight/Performance of Train Operations: (35%)**
Ensure that all scheduled trains operate safely and provide an excellent guest experience. This involves:
* Ensuring that sufficient, qualified employees are scheduled for the requirements of the train schedule.
* Ensuring train and engine service employees have received proper instructions on their duties, are prepared for service, and receive periodic performance monitoring.
* Instruction of employees on and enforcement of all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.
