Job Description
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of the PACE KC transportation department, ensuring the safe, reliable, and compassionate transport of participants. This role involves the direct supervision of drivers and dispatchers and requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate transportation services. Participate in all required PACE meetings, including IDT, family meetings, quality improvement, and in\-service training sessions. The supervisor ensures compliance with all safety regulations and the personalized care needs of participants, most of whom are elderly or have complex medical needs.
**Primary Functions**
1\. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage all transportation staff, including drivers and dispatchers.
2\. Staffing and Scheduling: Create and maintain daily schedules and routes for all drivers, optimizing for efficiency and participant needs.
3\. Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development for all transportation staff.
4\. Compliance Oversight: Ensure the transportation department and all staff comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) and Centers for Medicare \& Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
5\. Routing and Dispatch: Manage daily transportation logistics, including scheduling and routing via the dispatch system. Respond to changes or unexpected events in real\-time.
6\. Budget Management: Help manage the transportation department's budget, tracking expenditures and working to meet financial goals.
7\. Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between the transportation department and other PACE KC teams, such as nursing and social work.
8\. Communication: Communicate effectively with participants, caregivers, and families regarding transportation schedules, delays, and any concerns.
9\. Participant Care Plans: Work with the IDT to ensure transportation services are fully integrated into each participant’s individualized care plan.
10\. Service Delivery: Ensure participants receive compassionate, person\-centered service, including door\-to\-door assistance and safe transfers for those with mobility challenges.
11\. Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols for all transportation staff and vehicles.
12\. Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of all transportation\-related incidents, grievances, and vehicle accidents. Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports on findings.
13\. Emergency Response: Serve as a key member of the emergency response team for transportation\-related issues.
14\. Training: Participate in and lead ongoing safety training and emergency preparedness drills.
15\. Participate in all required PACE meetings, including IDT, family meetings, quality improvement, and in\-service training sessions.
